Lowes and Luca Marini, riders for Puig-sponsored teams, enjoyed a weekend of progress that brings them closer to their goals.
The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship had an intense weekend at Magny-Cours, where Alex Lowes (#22) achieved an excellent result for the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team project. The Briton secured podium finishes in all three races: 3rd in Race 1, the Superpole Race, and Race 2. His KB998 Rimini, currently in its debut season in WorldSBK and still under development, showed great potential on French soil.
Lowes reflected on his performance:
“It wasn’t an easy race with the heat, but we worked really hard. Three podiums with the new project show how well the bike is working. The goal is to be more competitive at every circuit, that’s clear, and we’ll work on that next year. It’s nice because, in 2024, I really enjoyed riding the Kawasaki and I feel I’m still riding in the same way. Weekends like this prove I can still perform at a high level. That’s important for me, and I enjoyed it a lot.”
The next round for Bimota will take place at MotorLand Aragón on September 26, where the team will aim to confirm its progress.
MotoGP: Luca Marini remains consistent
In MotoGP, Luca Marini (#10), rider for Honda HRC Castrol, delivered a solid weekend. The Italian finished 8th in Saturday’s Sprint Race and matched the result in Sunday’s main race, keeping him in 13th place in the overall standings.
In less than a week, the premier class will roar back into action at the San Marino Grand Prix, opening a new chapter in the season’s final stretch.
