The Puig Touring windscreen for the new BMW R1300RT 25’ has been designed with the main objective of increasing aerodynamic protection for the rider’s torso during riding.
The central surface of the windscreen has been aerodynamically studied to provide optimal protection while reducing the most uncomfortable turbulence generated by the original windscreen. When viewed from the side, the upper flip can be seen helping to redirect airflow and reduce the pressure reaching the rider, especially eliminating turbulence around the ear area.
Additionally, the air channel and the central opening integrated into the Puig Touring windscreen for the R1300RT significantly reduce wind noise when riding at high speeds.
The lower and side shapes of the windscreen perfectly adapt to the front of the BMW R1300RT in order to increase lateral protection and ensure that the lower section integrates completely with the original headlight.
Its stylized and defined lines are directed toward the radar area, highlighting this element while providing greater structural rigidity to a large windscreen.
Available in clear, light smoke and dark smoke finishes. For riders with the BMW R1300RT in the Triple Black color scheme, a more daring “S” finish is also available.
Manufactured from high-quality CN acrylic with a thickness of 4 mm, offering an excellent balance of strength, lightness and transparency.
Total dimensions are 475 mm wide, 755 mm high and 130 mm deep.
Installation is very simple. The windscreen is mounted using exactly the same fixing points as the original windscreen.
The Puig Touring windscreen is 80 mm taller than the original windscreen.
Aerodynamic studies show that with the original windscreen the rider experiences approximately 1.3 kg of air pressure, while with the Touring windscreen this pressure is reduced to 0.4 kg, representing a 72% improvement. This reduction is particularly noticeable in the rider’s chest area.
Reducing wind pressure during riding results in greater comfort, reduced fatigue on long journeys and improved riding safety.
Touring screens, developed by Puig in Barcelona, are designed with the objective to aerodynamically protect the rider without affecting his/her field vision. In addition, these screens fit perfectly with the adventure style and aesthetics of the trail models thanks to their wide range of colors and different sizes.
These Touring screens are manufactured using the most advanced technologies, using 4mm thick acrylic material, with UV protection and with a 2mm rounded edge. This finish gives it a more elegant touch and offers greater security, fulfilling with the regulations of the German TÜV.
The assembly of this screen follows a process that can be done without having to ask for a mechanic thanks to its simple and intuitive adaptation. The package also includes the aerodynamic studies that have emerged from comparing the Puig screen with the original in a virtual wind tunnel.
