PUIG SHINES AT THE 24H MOTO BARCELONA-CATALUNYA MARTIMOTOS

First held in 1995, the 24H Moto Barcelona-Catalunya is a prestigious international endurance race hosted annually at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló. For 24 continuous hours, teams of multiple riders take turns to keep their motorcycle on track, day and night, only stopping for refueling, tire changes, and rider swaps.

The real challenge? Dealing with fatigue —for riders, mechanics, and staff—, adapting to temperature changes, managing close to 700 laps strategically, and ensuring technical reliability. Victory doesn't go only to the team with the most laps, but to the one that best balances consistency, endurance, teamwork, and fatigue management.

This year, Puig supported two teams with outstanding performances: Kawasaki Català Racing, who secured a well-earned 2nd place, and the Team 24H Castellarnau from Institut Castellarnau, who won the Open SBK category and placed 4th overall.

Kawasaki Català Aclam (Xavier Artigas, Julien Pilot, Gabriel Pons, Daniel Sáez), a legendary team with 9 titles in this race, delivered an epic performance. After a brilliant start by Artigas, a broken rear wheel tensioner sent him into the gravel on lap two, forcing a long stop in the pits. Still, thanks to consistent pace and an outstanding comeback, the team climbed back to finish in a remarkable second place.

Meanwhile, Team 24H Castellarnau claimed a decisive victory in Open SBK and impressed with their 4th overall finish. Supported by around fifty students and faculty members, the team provided mechanical, logistical, and medical assistance throughout the race. Participants included students from both the Vehicle Maintenance program and the Health department, ensuring comprehensive support.

Both teams experienced 24 hours of true merit, overcoming setbacks and proving that passion, commitment, and teamwork are just as vital as speed.
